Goldenfields Water County Council general manager Darryl Hancock has resigned.
It is understood the decision was something of a sudden move.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Darryl for his tenure and wish him all the best for the future,” said the committee chairperson Dennis Palmer.
The council oversees Junee, Coolamon, Bland, Temora and parts of Cootamundra-Gundagai, Hilltops and Narrandera.
Mr Hancock was appointed to the role on April 23, 2018, just seven months before tending official resignation on November 13.
His last day in the post will be November 30, but Mr Hancock will be taking leave effective immediately.
Corporate Services Manager Ian Graham has been appointed to act in the position in the interim.
Recruitment operations to replace the role will begin in December, with the appointed person to begin sometime in the new year.
