At around 1:30 on Saturday morning, police allege, a 19-year-old woman was assaulted by two men in a park on Commins Street.
It is believed the woman was using a nearby ATM when she was dragged from behind into the park.
She is being treated at Wagga Base Hospital and has spoken to Riverina Police.
The men have been described as being of medium build, clean shave, and were wearing dark-hooded jumpers.
