It will be business as usual for Junee Shire councillors for the final year of their extended term, with mayor Neil Smith and deputy mayor Matt Austin re-elected unopposed at this month's council meeting.

Council elections were due to be held this month, but were postponed for 12 months in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Cr Smith and Cr Austin's positions were up for election as they had completed their two-year terms, but no councillors opted to contest for the positions at the September meeting.
Cr Smith welcomed the re-election.
"I'm quite pleased to know that the good ship Junee is going to continue to be steered straight and true for the next 12 months at least," he said.
He said this year may not have been the right time for change, with the community set to have the opportunity to re-elect a new council in full in 2021.
"Quite a few of our councillors have flagged that they won't be standing next election, so we'll have a fresh crop of people and who knows who might be on council then," he said.
"It's good to change from time to time, people bring new ideas and new skills."
Cr Smith said he encouraged anyone who was passionate about the town to consider running for council when elections come around this time next year.
"Particularly I'd like to see some female candidates for the positions on council," he said.
"It'd be nice to see a bit more of a mix of men and women on council, it just brings so much more diversity into the team and a bunch of different perspectives."
