Just after 4am on Sunday, June 28, two freight train wagons derailed when entering Junee yard on the southern line to Albury.
The Australian Rail Track Corporation reported that the two derailed wagons blocked both lines until a crane was in place to remove them.
"Track damage was relatively minor, with repairs carried out to some entry points to the yard," a spokesperson said.
The track reopened at 5.15pm last night, allowing traffic to access the Olympic Highway between Main Street and Seignior Street.
Investigations into the cause of the incident are still under way and repairs are ongoing.
