Officers from the Riverina Police District attended a home on Clarence Street, Junee, in the early hours of May 14 after reports of a stabbing.
Police will allege to the court that a 34-year-old man attended the home of another 51-year-old man and struck him in the head with a machete.
The young man also sustained stab wounds after allegedly being struck with the machete by the 51-year-old before presenting to Junee Hospital with lacerations to his abdomen.
He was transferred to Wagga Base Hospital where he underwent surgery.
The older man was also taken to Wagga Base Hospital for treatment to lacerations to his head when police arrived on scene.
A crime scene was established and inquiries commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
As part of their inquiries, Hayden Smith, 49, and Sarah McGrath, 34, were arrested during a vehicle stop on Main Street, Junee, about 9am on Thursday, June 4.
The pair were taken to Junee Police Station and both charged with accessory before the fact to wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
They were both refused bail and appeared in Wagga Local Court on Friday, June 5, where they were formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday, August 5.
Police will allege in court that the man and woman assisted the 34-year-old man in leaving the home in a Holden Colorado.
Following extensive inquiries, a 34-year-old man was arrested at a home in Junee yesterday.
He was taken to Junee Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The man was refused bail and is due to face Wagga Local Court today.
Inquiries are continuing.
