A packed schedule of online livestreams and pre-recorded gym classes began last Wednesday, with the centre's instructors moving their classes onto the now-popular Zoom video conference calling app.
The classes, beginning with two livestreams a day along with a pre-recorded optios, are available to the centre's 750-strong membership.
Recreation Centre coordinator Ben Brown said the classes helped maintain the social connection between members and their gym while they were not allowed to physically attend.
He said the classes were more personal than other video workout options available online.
"There is plenty of stuff online that you can just go and watch but there is that interaction, they're able to send us comments and we're able to reply to those ... kind of as if they were in class," he said.

Health and fitness coordinator Jenny Read said while people were staying at home, it was important for them to continue to do some daily physical activity.
"If you're confined to home, which we pretty much all are, we can't do exactly what we want to do," she said.
"This is just another way we can stay connected and provide a little bit of a service there because they can't come to see us."
She said participation in the live classes was private, but participants were able to either message instructors online or physically speak to them if they chose.
"I think that's exciting because it keeps our members connected to the instructors that normally do their classes, they're not just seeing somebody else that they don't know," she said.
"I think that's very important to peoples' mental health ... whether they do their classes or not they still know them and have a little bit of rapport with them which I think is important, it helps us as a small gym as well."
Mr Brown said the centre is looking at expanding their schedule, adding additional classes including videos of instructors participating in classes by world-renowned online fitness instructor Les Mills.
"We're always in the background trying to work on new things," he said.
"There's a great opportunity there for our members to get basically the full experience that they'd normally get at the gym but from the comfort of their own home."
Mr Brown said the centre would be frequently communicating with members across their channels to keep them up-to-date with new options.
