A Junee man has been charged over the alleged assault of Wagga man Travis Bridle after handing himself in to police.

The 22-year-old man presented himself to Junee Police Station about 6pm Wednesday and has since been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Wagga Police Acting Inspector Steve Probst said the man was granted conditional bail to appear in Junee Local Court May 8.
Police are looking to speak with a second man who is believed to be involved in the incident, which occurred Saturday night, March 21, outside the Red Cow Hotel in Junee.

The victim, Mr Bridle, believed the incident was a 'hateful attack' on his sexuality, but police cannot confirm this.
He reported to police that he was king hit while on the phone to his mother, then repeatedly punched, kicked and verbally abused.
