Junee Business and Trades received funding for the publication from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal through their Investing in Rural Community Futures grant program.
The Junee Community Directory will feature more than 100 not-for-profit community-based and sporting groups operating within Junee Shire.
Community liaison officer Nicholas Pyers, who will be the primary organiser of the directory, said now was the time for local groups to register their details.
"It doesn't matter if your group has half a dozen members or 100 plus - if you operate within Junee or the surrounding villages, we want to hear from you," he said.
Mr Pyers said aside from assisting the general public with finding groups they are interested in, it will also help the groups connect with each other.
"For instance, if one group is looking for an extra volunteer, they can check the directory for similar groups and see if they are able to help out," he said.
Another purpose of the directory is to link community groups with appropriate funding options.
"One of the problems people have had with securing a grant is actually wading through the hundreds that come out each weeks to find what suit them," Mr Pyers said.
"So this way, I can see all the sporting groups to send them the relevant sporting grants, or the history clubs to send them heritage grants, that sort of thing.
"Basically, I will do the searching and sorting for them."
Community groups can fill out the details online at www.junee.org.au/register, providing information like contact numbers and emails, a website, Facebook page, and what they do.
My Pyers said the form will take about 10-15 minutes to complete, but it means all relevant information can be uploaded at once without missing links or inconsistencies in data.
