This week, the Junee Junior Netball Association (JJNA) began collecting unused uniforms, sporting goods and training equipment for delivery to communities on the South Coast that have lost everything.
"Isn't good that we've been able to help in this way," said Shannon Corbett, vice president of the association.
"It's great we haven't been burnt out - lucky us - and that we can contribute to getting others out there to play the game.
"We just want everybody to be able to play, it doesn't matter that they're not in our town or even in our district."
Donations can be brought to Debbie Daley at the Railway Cafe during business hours. The donations will be delivered and distributed through a partnership with the development manager of the South Coast netball club.
"If you have any outgrown netball clothing, shoes or gear you are no longer using and [are] willing to forward them on to girls who will put them to use, bring them to the cafe," said Rob Vergano, president of the JJNA.
Junee's junior netball teams are looking strong ahead of the 2020 season's commencement.
The association's recent general meeting saw 14 new members join to more than double the previous year's involvement.
"[It] shows the positive momentum the club has," Vergano said.
"Increasing memberships keeps [the] girls active through netball."
Roughly 60 junior players will return to the game this year, but with registration now open, the club hopes to see even greater numbers join.
"Everyone is encouraged to register. Teams might be full, but there's always more space to add more teams," Corbett said.
Prospective players are encouraged to enroll via the mynetball app.
To kick off the year, the club is also seeking corporate sponsorships and planning a series of fundraising activities.
"The efforts will return funds back to our members through supplemented training clinics, clothing, training aids and improved facilities," Vergano said.
