The mare had been placed in six of her first 11 starts before breaking through for her first win in February.
However after breaking a bone in her hind leg just days later trainer-driver Matthew Harris thought her career may have been over.
It wasn't to be and 10 months later she returned for an impressive win at Riverina Paceway on Saturday.
Harris was pleased with the 14.9-metre victory.
"I wasn't expecting a huge lot from her but she went quite good the other night," Harris said.
Harris is looking for more of the same, expecting she'll have benefitted from the run.
"She went out for five months or so, come back in and I didn't even give her a trial," he said.
"She was working ok and knew she would be competitive first up and should be better for the run.
"It all depends on the way the race is run."
Sevendaysaweek has drawn barrier one in the New Year's Eve Airwize Pace (2170m) and Harris is hoping to utilise her gate speed.
"To be honest her wins are probably limited but the way she went the other night, while not breaking any records, she did it quite well and felt good," he said.
"She might win another couple without getting too far ahead of myself and then possibly breed a foal as she's got a very economical action and is an athletic sort of a mare."
