In A Grade, the Butchers "got flogged" in the words of club president and team member Steven Gentle.
"We had a very good first quarter and were essentially equal but then had a bad second quarter and that just stayed with us for the rest of the game," he said.
With only six points in the second quarter, despite what Gentle said to be an almost equal first and fourth quarter, Wagga Llama Tek came out on top 100-45 at full time.
Josh McPherson made MVP as the second top scorer with 24 points, topped only by brother Cameron McPherson scoring 26. Shane Clear matched a 24 point core.
Runner up for best and fairest went to the Butcher's Mitch Hayden as their top scorer with 13 points.
Gentle scored 11 for the team followed closely by his son at just 14 years old adding 8 points to the scoreboard.
"My son has been playing since he was 12, he only went on for a few minutes here and there and scored four baskets from four shots so he's got the skill already," Gentle said.
"As a team we're saying we can't wait until he gets another two or three years under his belt and he'll get even better."
Gentle said it was the fairer game of the day.
In B Grade the Hogs took out the win over the Gouttlongs with a final score of 59-45.
"It was hard to say who'd win that one at the start," Gentle said.
"If you looked at it from the season you'd say the Gouttlongs had it in the bag but from that game, the Hogs looked to have it pretty well even if it was close."
It was a close competition with the Gouttlongs up for most of the game until last quarter.
Half time saw a score of 25-17 in favour of the Gouttlongs, but the Hogs outscored them in the final quarter with 23-7, winning them the game.
Pat Sweeney was named MVP as the tips scorer with 31 points, while Geoff Bush and Damien Miles got runner up.
The club is already seeing a number of female-only teams showing interest with three registered out of four teams needed to make a separate competition.
Interested players are encouraged to get in touch with the club to see the competition go ahead.
