Narrandera Shire Council's Mayor Neville Kschenka revealed the installation of new changerooms and a water slide project alongside Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke last month.
"The opening was a huge success with not only locals but people from across the region eager to try out the new slides and changerooms," Cr Kschenka said.
"Our projects team have successfully completed two major projects during the off season working with several contractors to complete the works."
The pool level changerooms allow better access for the entire community with modern facilities, including two universal access family rooms.
Local services were incorporated into installing and creating the water slide facility, including Todd Murry Concreting, Daniel Ragen, Murrumbidgee Plumbing Services, Moore's Landscaping, Cregan's Cranes, Rombola Engineering and Narrandera Signs.
"The new water slides project has modernised the facility, further enhancing Lake Talbot Water Park to be a major regional tourist attraction," Cr Kschenka said.
The upgrades come as part of Round Two of the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund, according to Cr Kschenka.
"Our local member Steph Cooke MP strongly advocated on our behalf to see both projects included, recognising how beneficial it would be to our community and as a visitor attraction supporting our economy," he said.
The Daily Advertiser previously printed that the water park had two slides, the rampage slide and blue slide, which are no longer a feature.
Lake Talbot Water Park is open for the season until 31 March 2020.
