After last month's event, president of Junee Basketball Association Steven Gentle said numbers have grown.
"We had 16 teams last time which was great but now we've got about 20 signed up to play," he said.
"Seven of those alone are coming from Junee and others from Tumut, Young, Wagga and Temora, so everyone is getting on board."
The gala days aim to give children the opportunity to play basketball when they may not be at the level of representative competitions.
"We aren't quite strong enough to play in some of the competitive leagues like Southern Waratah Junior League, so these events let the kids get together, play a game and have a good time," Gentle said.
"We do have scores taken but not individual player scores and no ladders or anything."
For children aged 8, 10 and 12, the gala day is reviving an older tradition according to Gentle.
"These types of competitions used to be held years ago when all the little towns around the region were very strong in basketball, and because everyone is starting back up again now we're trying to reinvigorate the game and get the kids back playing competitions against other towns," he said.
"Membership has grown from about 50 to 200 though over the past two years or so, and everyday we're fielding more and more calls of kids wanting to join the club so it's fantastic."
The Temora Junior Gala Day will be held this Sunday, November 3.
