Organiser Prue Duncan said everyone could get involved, no matter their age or capability.
"We will have junior and senior programs with the season to run from October 30 to February 26 next year," she said.
"You don't need to be a soccer player to play, grab some friends and come have a run around."
Juniors will cater for under 5s through to under 13s, with registered player limits restricted to six per team for the seniors.
Player registrations will also take place online today ahead of round 1, where juniors will play from 4.45pm and seniors at 6.00pm on Wednesdays.
Ms Duncan, registering to play herself, said there was a solid show of interest this year.
"We have had a few people interested in putting teams in, but there is always room for more," she said.
The sport was all about having fun and getting active, according to Ms Duncan.
"We are absolutely excited, six-a-side is great fun," she said.
"We run around and laugh and have the best time."
