Early in July, new committee president Leasa Toll announced the very real risk that the festival would face permanent closure if increased manpower could not be found.

Now still a month away its annual general meeting, the two longstanding vacancies on the committee have been filled.

"Two people have put their hands up to join us," Ms Toll said.

"They've just re-ignited my passion to make this happen next year."

After running each year for a decade consecutively, Ms Toll made the difficult decision to pull the plug on the 2019 festival, choosing instead to focus attention on making "next year's even bigger and even better".

The festival is now on track to return in May 2020.

"We now need the businesses to jump on board to get this going," Ms Toll said.

"They're the ones who will benefit the most with the increased tourism to the town."

An new executive board will be announced at the AGM on September 3, 6pm at the Junee Ex-Services Club.

All are welcome to join the proceedings, and a membership fee of $1 will be required to be given a vote.

"Without that community support we can't get across the line and bring those dollars in, and really that's what it's about - boosting and growing our local economy," Ms Toll said.
