Jackie Starr will now add the Silver Wattle Award to her growing cabinet of accolades, following her almost-50-years of service to the state's cub scouts.
"I had no idea about it until two days ago, when I received a letter saying I'd won [the award]," Ms Starr said.
"It was exciting, just unreal and overwhelming."
Joining Ms Starr on the honour board this year will be fellow Junee scouts leaders Lynda Ross and Daniel Wattie, who have both received special service awards.
Ms Ross began her scouts career only three-and-a-half years ago.
"She was a bit of a surprise actually, she came in with her young daughter who'd heard about cub scouts and wanted to join," Ms Starr said.
"She's been such a helper, she will do anything and everything. [Last year] she became secretary, and then this year, she's actually taken the lead to wearing the uniform as well, as our new group leader.
"She's just a treasure to have around. She's always there, she's always helping."
Mr Wattie leads the older children and is this week even serving as a supervisor at the annual scout rally near Sydney.
"Without him, Junee wouldn't have a scout group at all. It'd just be cubs," Ms Starr said.
"When I took up the cubs, he stepped up from cub leader to scout leader, and the kids just love him to bits. He does so much for them."
The honours were announced on World Scouts Day - August 1 - by the Governor General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley.
