A 52-year-old man who suffered severe head injuries in an alleged assault in Junee this week has been discharged from hospital against medical advice.

Until Wednesday morning, he remained in a critical but stable condition, after he was taken by ambulance to Wagga Base Hospital in an induced coma.
It is understood he was the victim of an alleged assault that took place near Fitzroy Street in Junee sometime around midday on Tuesday.
Upon awakening from the coma, a spokesperson for the hospital confirmed, he made the decision to discharge himself.
In previous police reports, it had been noted that the man's age was 47, but the hospital spokesperson confirmed that was inaccurate.
No arrests have been so far made, but police say they are expecting a fast result and have asked anyone in the community who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
