Bureau of Metereology predictions at the end of last week indicated a small downpour on public holiday Monday would usher minimal drizzles throughout the week.

Altogether, less than 10mm was forecast for the week. Instead, the tail end of a low pressure system moving in over the state hit parts of the region on Monday morning.

Up to 10mm of rain was dumped on parts of Marrar, Junee and the shire on Monday morning.

It was followed by another sudden deluge of 10mm in the afternoon, and up to 4mm overnight.

The Bureau confirmed the downpour was considerably isolate, with neighbours registering enormously varying results.

Another 20mm was expected on Wednesday after little rainfall on Tuesday.

At the time of publication, it was still too early to tell whether the forecast was fulfilled.
