Last month's guest speaker, John Leak from Aus SelfDefence, was interesting and informative - it's a shame more members and guests did not attend. Those who did attend had a fun night and learnt life skills that hopefully won't have to be put to use. If you would like more information on Aus SelfDefence contact us and we will pass on the details.
Eight members attended our March meeting and a warm welcome was extended to two potential new members.
All office bearers presented excellent and interesting reports. Papua New Guinea is our country of study this year and members present were provided with materials to make a tribal headdress for next month's meeting, should be interesting and fun. This year the members will also be learning about four other topics which are koalas for fauna. Flora is Kurrajong trees. The foe is carp and the primary product is honey.
Members were reminded to improve communications and acknowledge when notices/requests are sent out via social media, email or message.
Hume Group held their Handicrafts and general meeting Wednesday, March 6. It was well attended and beautiful craft was submitted across all sections. Well done to all and congratulations to the winners whose items go to State Conference for judging to be held in Albury in May.
Thank you to the Junee Ex-Services Memorial Club for the use of their facilities. Special thanks to Junee Evening Members for providing a scrumptious morning / afternoon tea and helping on the day. Well done ladies
We are starting to put together our calendar of events and fund raising days for the year, which the members can attend to represent our branch and also to raise money for our branch and to help in the community so we can give back what we raise early into the new year.
