The match results were also similar with golden goals being scored within seconds of each other to send The Wolf Pack and Licorice Hooters through to the grand final.
In the women's minor semi-final, 49ers proved too strong for Blue Birds with a solid 6-1 result.
Fiona Walker, Larissa Purnell and Kara Hancock all scored braces, while Bella Passlow sent in a screamer for the Blue Birds. Both teams played well with plenty of attack and shots at goal. The teamwork of 49ers was a key factor in their goals, proving the difference.
In the women's major semi-final, it was a very tight game with both teams playing some good passing football and providing plenty of entertainment. The attack and defensive efforts from both teams were very solid. Topssip's goal came off the boot of Natasha Lamb who sent a brilliant strike from wide on the right to beat the keeper.
Licorice Hooter's reply came off some good work on the right side that saw a good cross that the keeper could not control and Suz Waia slotted the ball home, giving a 1 all scoreline.
No more than two minutes had elapsed in extra time when a swift attack was launched that saw Suz Waia send the ball beyond the Topssip goalkeeper to take the game and send Licorice Hooters straight to the grand final.
Topssip will now meet 49ers in the preliminary final, with the winner to meet Licorice Hooters.
Get Plastered had an easy road to the preliminary final when they won on forfeit. They will meet Hell Raisers in the preliminary final with the winner of that match meeting The Wolf Pack.
In the men's major semi-final, Hell Raisers met The Wolf Pack in another high-intensity match that was extremely quick paced and skilful. The game was end to end and both teams worked tirelessly to get the upper hand but with a goal to each team through Lochie Philipse and Zac Billingham, the final whistle saw a 1 all scoreline. As with the women's match, no more than two minutes had lapsed until Ethan Sainsbury sent the ball into the back of the net to give the match to The Wolf Pack.
