Hell Raisers secured the minor premiership in the men’s competition, while Topssip took out the women’s minor premiership last Wednesday week.
Semi-finals were played last night, with Hell Raisers meeting The Wolf Pack in the men’s major semi-final and Get Plastered taking on Egg Plants in the minor semi.
In the women’s, Topssip met Licorice Hooters in the major semi, while 49ers faced the Blue Birds in the minor. The outcome of these matches will be in next week’s report.
In the final round, Hell Raisers drew 4-all with Get Plastered in what was an exciting match-up. Both teams traded goals and neither was able to skip away with the match, despite all their best efforts. Great attack, solid defence and never-say-die attitude were a feature.
Brad Price scored a hat-trick with Gavin Richards supplying the other goal, while Nick Cook scored a brace and was supported by a goal from Chris Lewis. Best on the park were Brad Price, Nick Cook and Jason Mutimer.
In the women’s games, Topssip had a strong win over Scramblers 9-0. Best on the park were Kianne Ryan, Tash Lamb and Abby Foley.
Licorice Hooters and 49ers played the final game, with double points up for grabs.
The Hooters came away with a 4-1 win, with Suz Waia scoring a brace and Abby Lewis and Prue Duncan adding goals.
It was a good game with lots of strong defence and equally strong attacking moments keeping the game at a high standard.
The win changed ladder positions significantly, with the Hooters finishing second behind Topssip.
Prue Duncan, Fiona Walker and Suz Waia were best afield.
