"It's been absolutely timely. If it had of been on Friday, it'd end up slushy and horrible but the residual moisture will be enough to keep the dust down," said speedway president Kerry Phelan.

More than 300 people are expected to join the event, having travelled from all over NSW, South Australia, ACT and Queensland.
With 30 speedcars on their way, attendance is just 10 shy of the speedway's record.
"There will be at least eight speedway sidecar outfits that compete in the national titles.
"They follow events around the nation but for those who are in geographical proximity to us, they'll be doing demonstrations on the track. It's sort of their practice day," said Mr Phelan.
Among the riders will be the son of Ron Trounson, who won the national sidecar title in 1952.
"It's going to be a spectacular weekend of speedway action, so bring someone to hold onto," said Mr Phelan.
