Borrowing aspects of its affiliation to the railways, the newly installed seats along Broadway Street pay homage to Junee’s history.
The installation on Friday represents the first of a few civic upgrades planned for the town this year.
“We also removed the garden beds on the corners, knowing that it is a visibility issue there,” said Cole Davis, director of engineering with Junee Shire Council.
New rose beds will be planted along the nature strip on Broadway Street, in positions that will not obstruct plain vision.
Additionally in the next month, new LED lights will be installed along the cenotaph and the older park benches will too be replaced.
“There has actually been a lot going on around the town,” said Mr Cole.
“The resurfacing Laurie Daley Oval is now 95 per cent completed, and we’ll be opening it to the sports community to do a walk around on Thursday.”
