Only one women’s match proceeded with 49ers taking the points over Blue Birds in a good game that saw both teams work very hard in trying conditions.
Final score was 6-3 with Fiona Walker scoring a solid hat-trick, Ellie White with a brace and Kara Hancock slotting home one for herself. Amy Hanlon scored a brace for the Blue Birds with Tenaya Gerhard finding the back of the net.
Best on the night was Kara Hancock, Amy Hanlon and Fiona Walker.
In the Men’s, Get Plastered got the best of Egg Plants with a 11-2 result.
Both teams worked well and made it a fast and furious meeting with plenty of shots from both and solid defence.
The scoreline was a little lopsided on the night but was not a true indication of how well Egg Plants went on the night and when they hit their straps, results may well be on the positive side.
In the last men’s game, Hell Raisers took the points from The Wolf Pack 3-1 with plenty of action from both teams.
Goals from Zac Billingham, Ray Jones and Brad Price were well taken and it was a very close match. Lachie Philipse scored for his team. The game was not as one sided as the scoreline might suggest. Both teams had opportunities and a little more luck could have seen a much closer result.
Strong attack and equally strong defence was a highlight of the game. Best on the night was David Billingham, Zac Billingham and Chris Allen.
