A man has been charged over an alleged stabbing outside a Temora hotel this morning.

Riverina police have been told that two men, aged 20 and 23, began arguing outside the hotel about 1.45am on Sunday that then escalated into a physical fight.
“During the fight, the older man was allegedly stabbed to his upper body,” police said in a statement.
“He has been taken to Temora Hospital in a stable condition.”
The younger man was arrested at the scene and taken to Temora Police Station where he has been charged with five offences:
- Reckless grievous bodily harm
- Armed with intent to commit indictable offence
- Wield knife in a public place
- Affray
- Custody of a knife in a public place
He has been refused bail to appear in Wagga Local Court on Monday, February 11.
Both men are from Temora.
A knife has been seized from the roof of the hotel and has been taken for forensic examination.
In a separate but related incident, a police officer sustained injuries to his left hand during the arrest of a 21-year-old man in Temora a short time after the alleged stabbing.
The 21-year-old man was treated for pepper spray and a shoulder injury before being taken to Temora Police Station where he has been charged with assault police and resist arrest.
He is due to appear in Temora Local Court on February 27, 2019.
The officer was also treated at Temora Hospital and will require further medical treatment.
