Now in its 15th year, the annual Junee Poker Run returns on February 2.
Each year, the fundraiser raises in excess of $15,000 which is given in entirety to the local CanAssist branch.
“It’s bikes all day then blues all night,” said organsier Tony Fitzgerald.
“We’ve always been very fortunate with the weather too, we’ve never been rained out. There’s been rain the night before, and rain the night after but never on the day.”
An expected 350 motorcyclists will join together on the day, having travelled from all over Sydney, Canberra and the Riverina.
“It’s one of those things that really helps the entire community,” said Mr Fitzgerald.
“It’s a good day out, good to raise money, good to have a day out. Just good all around.”
The fundraiser comes a week after CanAssist received an unexpected helping hand to the tune of $1673.65.
On behalf of the IGA co-op, Shane Willis handed over the donation raised through the past year’s community co product push.
“When a customer purchases a community co product, they’re helping the community with a donation to some of our local charities,” said the Co-Ops Shane Willis.
