“There must be something in the water out there in Junee,” said Mr Edmonds.
“The Junee boys made up half our team. They’re playing some quality cricket and they’re great kids.”
Chosen from the best players in Sydney, ACT and regional NSW, 18 teams descended on the country town’s grounds at the beginning of the year.
The Riverina boys played four matches in as many days against Blacktown, Parramatta, North West Sydney and Shoalhaven.
They won two of their games, with a narrow one-wicket loss in their last match, placing them eighth on the overall leaderboard.
“They were up against some great teams from Sydney, so they really did excellent,” said Mr Edmonds.
“Bill Walker was definitely on of the best bowlers at there. He took five wickets in the first game.”
The same week Charlie Condon went on to play in the city verse country T20 clash under lights.
“It was definitely a step up, but he showed some good calibre cricket,” said his father Greg Condon.
