The Riverina may soon see a direct link train service that would connect regional NSW to the Southern Highlands and to Sydney.
Community consultation will be sought from February before construction goes ahead in the second half of 2019.
Once operational, the northbound service is touted for either Thursday or Friday, departing either mid-morning or mid-afternoon.
The southbound service would run either Wednesday or Thursday, arriving in Cootamundra at around noon, or just after 5pm.
“We want the community to get behind these proposed extra services and that’s why we are asking them for feedback on how and when these services are operated,” said Cootamundra MP Steph Cooke.
Community consultations will begin in February, taking place around Narrandera, Coolamon, Junee and Cootamundra.
