Family and friends of Ervin Gustowski came together to farewell him at his funeral last Friday.
The Junee man died after an alleged one-punch assault just before Christmas outside the town’s Ex-Services Club.
Mr Gustowski, 58, was reportedly trying to intervene an altercation between two other men.
His family has decided to donate his organs.
Patricia Butler, chairman of the Cooinda Court where Mr Gustowski worked, said about 300–400 of his family, friends and community members attended the funeral at St Joseph’s Catholic Church.
“He was popular and well respect by the board, his colleagues and residents,” Ms Butler said in mid-December.
“Ervin has always been more than happy to help people and as an organ donor he continues to do so.”
He was a father of four daughters: Danielle, Tamara and Kelly and Tanya, who pre-deceased him.
