
A man has been charged for the alleged one-punch assault that killed another man in Junee last weekend.
Yesterday, police investigators arrested a 68-year-old man who attended Parramatta Police Station while he was visiting a relative in Sydney.
The man was subsequently charged with assault occasioning death.
Police will allege that the man assaulted 58-year-old Ervin Gustowski at Junee’s Ex-Services Club.
Mr Gustowski sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Wagga Base Hospital before he died the following day.
The 68-year-old, a former Junee resident, was granted strict conditional bail and is set to appear at Parramatta Local Court on January 23, 2019.
Conditions include not returning to Junee and report twice daily to police in Sydney.
A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with affray and assault.
He appeared at Wagga Bail Court on December 15, where he was granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on January 16 next year.

Following the incident, Riverina police established Strike Force Freebairn to investigate.
Speaking at a media conference today, Wagga Police Chief Inspector Andrew Spliet said “the bail conditions are very strict in relation to this matter and it’s a good to see a resolution”.
”There’s a large number of statements with police work that was done.
“However, we’re still calling on anyone who may have information or witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers or Wagga detectives.”
Mr Gustowski is believed to have been trying to break up another incident when the attack took place.
Chief Inspector Spliet said they were still investigating the circumstances that led to the assault.
“There is still a number of people we’ll be speaking to in relation to the incident leading up to the death of this man,” he said.
