The senior summer soccer competition saw some great football with some good results despite there only being two games on the night.
In the men’s match, Get Plastered and Egg Plants produced a very entertaining game with limited team numbers that in the end, saw Get Plastered take the game 4-3.
The teams traded goal-for-goal and it was only late in the second half that Get Plastered managed to get ahead and keep the lead.
Plenty of opportunities created by both but the more direct play of Get Plastered saw them take the points. Goals came from George Harris, a nice hat-trick, and for the winners, Brett Dobson a brace, Chris Lewis and Will Magrath one each.
Best on the park was George Harrison, Will Magrath and Chris Lewis.
Topssip and the Scramblers met in the ladies’ match and Topssip came away with a 11-1 result on the night.
While Topssip dominated most areas of the game, Scramblers never gave up and their persistence saw a goal pulled back with Krystal Fitzgerald beating the Topssip keeper with a terrific shot.
Natasha Lamb for the winners played a great attacking game and scored five goals, with Kaitlyn Buck scoring a hat-trick, Abby Foley a brace and Netta (NNR) Foley scored the other goal.
Very entertaining game with both teams in the Christmas spirit.
Best on the park was Natasha Lamb, Krystal Fitzgerald and Amanda Green.
Summer soccer goes into the Christmas/New Year break this week and games will resume on Wednesday, January 9.
