JUNIORS
The junior summer soccer games were again of a high standard and although there are still some good scores being recorded we are still getting quality football from the juniors.
Ajax continued with their solid performance so far this season with a good 7-4 result over Man United. Tom Collins-McAlister scored four with good support from Lachlan Phillips with a brace and Claire O’Rafferty getting the other. Goals for Man United came off the boot of Ryan Schultz, Xavier Wall, James Riley and Emerson Gill. Top game with end to end attack and last ditch defence.
Atletico had a solid result of PSG, 8-6, and again, PSG had their chances but couldn’t convert all that they should. Both teams played strongly and it was a big ask playing 4x4 on a big field but these players are fit and hungry for goals. Blake Fitzgibbins notched five with Torah Newman scoring a hat-trick for Atletico, while braces were scored by Jazmin Ross and Isaac Chisolm, with goals to Nate Barrett and Cameron Richards for PSG. This match was also end to end action with plenty of space available to both teams, the game was very open.
In the MiniRoos, Socceroos and Roar played out a six-all draw with both teams going at it hammer and tong. It was great football to watch with neither side able to get that decisive winner but the action was non-stop from both teams. Roar scorers were Fabian Wall, Keegan Newman and Cameron Riley all scoring braces, while Socceroos were best served with 4 goals from Jack Walker and a brace to Kaden Shaw.
In the other Miniroos match Real Junee accounted for Juventus 1-0 in a tight game that could have gone either way. Lots of chances from both but the ones in the net are the ones that count and Lachlan Fitzgibbins found the net to give Real the result. Good game from both teams and again, great action all over the park.
In the Rooball, Victory/Mariners played out a 1-0 result against Glory/Wanderers in a very close game. This group is highly entertaining and they give it all to play their best in each and every game. Nathan Schultz scored the only goal in a great game full of lots of good attempts at goal, good tackles, good defence and good fun.
