
Following their graduation last week, six new officers are set to join stations across the Riverina.
Probational Constable Jaydan Prior is due to begin in Junee on Monday.
An additional two other recruits will join the force at the end of January, bringing the station to a full compliment once again.
Until the end of this week, Junee police will also be participating in the statewide Feed A Farmer appeal.
Residents are encouraged to deliver non-perishable food items to the Belmore Street station before December 14, to help the region’s drought-effected families celebrate Christmas.
Assault arrest
A physical altercation between police and a 45-year-old Junee man has resulted in his arrest.
The incident began just after 3pm on December 2, at the intersection of Junction Street and Olympic Highway.
He has been charged with assault and resisting arrest, to appear before Junee Local Court on March 1.
High range drink driving
A 49-year-old Junee woman has been charged with high range PCA following a roadside breath test on December 8. She was stopped while travelling on Park Lane after 1am. Following her positive result she has been issued with an appearance notice for Junee Local Court in January.
Failure to comply
A minute after midnight on December 1, a 22-year-old Junee man was stopped on Broadway for a random breathe test.
He was taken to Junee police station for breath analysis following several failed attempts to follow police instructions. Upon returning a positive result, he was charged with driving under mid-range PCA. His licence was immediately suspended, and he will appear before Junee Local Court in January.
