To his friends he is worth celebrating.
In recognition of Glen Fanning’s enormous achievement, last weekend being named the top volunteer in the NSW Police Officer of the Year awards, Junee residents are being invited to shower him with gratitude.

Kelly Robinson has been friends with Mr Fanning since the pair were children.
Ms Robinson is planning to host an afternoon tea in his honour on December 16 from 3pm at the bowling club.
“It’s partly to celebrate his award, but also for everything he does in the community,” said Ms Robinson.
“He’s an amazing, kind-heart of a man, he always has been.
“He gives so much of his time to the town, like with my son, he has autism, so Glen will often go to his school and do reading with the special needs kids.
“It’s just so important and valuable to have him there. He’s a real role model to the kids.”
Mr Fanning attended the award ceremony in Sydney last Friday with Junee’s Inspector Rob Vergano, and two friends from the town support centre.
“Glen has a large family and a lot of friends who weren’t able to go to the awards night,” said Ms Robinson.
“I wanted to go, but I couldn’t make it. Since it was so hard for everyone to be there when he won, we thought we’d bring the celebrations back home.”
Ahead of the event, Ms Robinson will be selling tickets for $10 each, which can be purchased at Junee’s police station.
“It’s so important to celebrate what he does, because he does so much,” said Ms Robinson.
“He’s always out, selling raffle tickets for something or volunteering for charities, school functions, you name it he does it.”
