Two exciting events with innovative holistic farmer David Marsh from “Allendale” Boorowa, who recently took out the Australian Government Individual Landcarer Award at the NSW Landcare conference, will be in Junee on November 20 and 21.
At the annual Junee Landcare Dinner on Tuesday, November 20, David will talk about his journey of change and agricultural innovation as he made the transition to regenerative agriculture and holistic farm management beginning over 20 years ago. Join other friends of landcare for an enjoyable evening at the Junee Hotel at 6.30pm.
On Wednesday, November 21, David will lead a guided paddock walk on Henry Crooke’s property “Gerilgambeth” near Harefield. On this special field trip participants will have the chance to hear David talk first-hand about reading the landscape and learn of the practicalities of establishing regenerative holistic farm management. Meet 8.30am at 1766 Patterson’s Road, Harefield.
David was pivotal in the early establishment of the Landcare movement, and David’s property has long been a proving ground for sympathetic land management. David was an early adopter of direct seeding techniques for planting trees, and his on-ground practice has been hugely influential, hosting thousands of visitors to their property since 1989 learning about holistic management, planning for drought, healthy soils and biodiversity.
The Junee Area Landcare Network AGM is November 20 at the Junee Hotel at 5.30pm. All welcome.
