The 18-year-old scored his biggest win to date after combining with Young trainer Katie Jenner to win the $13,000 feature aboard Ned Pepper.

After a second in his heat on Tuesday, Seary said it was a special win.

“I was a good thrill,” Seary said.

Things didn’t exactly go to plan after being caught wide from barrier six.

However Seary elected to retreat and went back to last before making a three-wide move.

Despite doing some work early, the eight-year-old delivered a fast sprint to claim Luvumum near the line and take a 2.2 metre win.

Favourite Million Dollar Gem rallied late for third, but couldn’t find a clear run in time to make it a hat-trick of wins.

Seary was pleased with how things unfolded at the end.

“I wanted to go back but Katie wanted to go forward and I had a look to see if we could slot in to a spot but it didn’t work out,” he said.

“I still thought he was a good chance when he got the cart up into it.

“Everyone has seen how good he can sprint so it was all about getting a cart up and not letting Million Dollar Gem out.”

It was Ned Pepper’s biggest win since taking out the Junee Pacers Cup almost two years ago and his 15^th win overall.

It backed up Seary’s earlier win with the Young trainer.

They also took out a Menangle Country Series heat with Ill Be A Lady, a sister of Ned Pepper. 

Seary was close to a hat-trick with Redbank Harry only beaten a neck in the second Menangle Country Series heat.
