Hart has been a revelation since moving to Sydney 12 months ago, driving 80 winners last season, including two group three victories.
The 19-year-old will return to the region for two drives on Wagga’s 10-race program and is looking forward to reuniting with well-performed mare Gotta Go Jazzy Jet in the Sportsmens Club Hotel Pace (1755m).
“Phil Thurston called me about driving Gotta Go Jazzy Jet, he needed a concession claim and I’ve driven her in the past, so that’s the main reason for coming down,” Hart said.
“She’s a handy mare, I think she could come to Menangle and win a couple so I was happy to come and drive her.
“She’s in good form, she won a good race at Eugowra and beat a few nice ones. She’s drawn to be up there handy and I think she’ll be very hard to beat.”
Hart has also picked up a drive for his uncle, Trevor White, on Trevor in the HRNSW Rewards Series Final (1755m).
“He’s been going pretty good his last couple of runs, pretty consistent and he’s drawn to get a soft run along the fence,” he said.
Hart, a Junee boy, is looking forward to returning to the region.
“It’s been a while. When I first moved I planned to come back a fair bit but things have just snowballed up here,” he said.
“I think Wagga and Junee have a few Friday meetings coming up so I want to try and get back for a few of those if I get drives.”
Hart is happy with how his time in Sydney is going.
“I’m really surprised,” he said.
“I think I drove 80 winners in my first season up here and moving up here I would have been happy with 30 or 40 so I definitely exceeded my expectations.”
