The Harlequins player became the youngest winner of the David Mumford Memorial Trophy for men’s division one best and fairest.
He finished on 16 votes, four ahead of joint runners-up Lake Albert’s Adam Boyd and teammate Bradley Waston.
Not polling his first vote until round seven, Makeham had a purple patch collecting 12 votes in eight games, including three best on grounds, to take home the award.
The 16-year-old eclipsed six-time winner Paul Oakman, who won his first aged 17 in 1994, as the youngest winner.
He also helped his team into the grand final after scoring in their 4-3 win in the preliminary final.
Makeham will also play alongside father Phil in the second division grand final against Cavaliers on Saturday before playing Lake Albert in the big one.
