Stolen goods
Riverina Police arrested a 47-year-old man at an address in Jack Avenue, Mount Austin following a break in at an Illabo business on Friday August 31.
Just after 10:50pm on Monday September 3, police uncovered $30,000 worth of allegedly stolen tools and equipment at a home in Urana Street, Turvey Park. It led police to pursue the alleged thief at the second address.
The man was charged with break and enter, theft and malicious damage, and had his bail refused at Wagga Local Court on Tuesday.
Youth altercation
A physical altercation between two children took place at Junee skatepark on Saturday September 1.
Police are continuing to meet with witnesses to the incident that occurred sometime after 3pm. It is understood neither party sustained any serious injuries.
“Any offences at the skatepark with result in barring,” said Inspector Rob Vergano.
“Since the skatepark is a council property, it may also mean barring from all council areas, which includes football and soccer fields.”
Livestock theft
An ongoing investigation is underway after the theft of a hundred six-month old lambs at a property on Coffin Rock Lane, Old Junee.
The sheep have been tagged with NLIS number NE552672.
Community consultation
Junee police will join Wagga in hosting a rural crime forum on Monday September 10 at the Temora Ex-Services Memorial Club.
Locals are invited to attend from 5pm to discuss current initiatives the police have trialled to deal with rural related crimes.
