The resumption, after a two-week break to install a new boiler, was announced by the factory on Friday.

Sales manager Rhiannon Druce said production was “as good as gold” following the installation.

“The new boiler is more environmentally friendly,” Ms Druce said.

“We’re adapting as technology improves.”

The factory is also set to increase production to meet demands from residents and tourists alike.

“We’ll be making about 600kg per batch per day, five days a week,” Ms Druce said.

“It’s a slight increase [compared with the previous process].

“We’ll also be increasing our raspberry licorice – it’ll now be once a month rather than every three months.

“So half of Junee will smell like raspberry.”

The latest figures show that the factory gets about 130,000 visitors per year.

“We get a lot of regional day trippers and there’s also flow from Canberra and Sydney,” Ms Druce said.
