Cootamundra has topped the region so far, with 4.1 millimetres falling in the past 12 hours.
Temora is not far behind, on 3.2 millimetres.
In the heart of Wagga and Junee, just 1.8 millimetres has so far fallen, mostly between 5am and 7:30am on Friday.
Towards the east, in Hay 1.4 millimetres has fallen, while in Deniliquin 1.3 millimetres has dropped.
Bringing up the bottom of the rainfall leaderboard is Narrandera on 0.2 millilitres, Griffith on 0.4 millimetres, and Kapooka on 0.6millimtres.
The rain is not expected to stick around into Friday afternoon.
But while Wagga will not see any rain for the remainder of the day, Junee’s falls may continue into the evening, though nothing close to the morning’s downpour.
Small showers may return on Monday morning, as will the frost and fog.
Otherwise, the weekend looks to be sunny, if somewhat cloudy.
Saturday and Sunday are expected to start in minus temperatures, then work the way to the low teens.
It will be one degree cooler in Junee than in Wagga, with frost returning the early morning minus temperatures on Saturday and Sunday.
The start of the incoming week will bring with it slightly warmer temperatures – in the mid to late teens – but with the cloud cover expected to stick around, it is unlikely much of the sun’s warmth will poke through.
