To the joy of many farmers, the seven-day forecast across the region will likely bring some precipitation.
A total of 11 millimetres is expected through to next Wednesday, with much of the falls concentrated before this weekend.
Despite the rain, maximum daytime temperatures will be sitting well above previous weeks.
Thursday will reach 17 in Wagga.
Hay is expected to reach the top temperature for the region, with a top of 21 on Thursday.
Not far behind will be Griffith on 20, with Narrandera and Deniliquin on 19.
Fortunately for lovers of the cold, Wagga’s temperature will drop back to 11 on Friday, maintaining the chill throughout the weekend and into next week – though the cool will be a far cry from Saturday’s icy record.
Thursday and Friday will provide a reprieve from the morning frost and fog.
It shall return at the weekend, before once again disappearing from Monday through to Wednesday next week.
The combination of low temperatures, rainfall, and strong westerly winds on Friday has also prompted the Bureau of Meteorology to issue warnings for the Riverina's sheep graziers.
Affecting the Riverina as well as neighbouring South West Slopes, ACT, Snowy Mountains, and Tablelands, the conditions pose a greater risk to lambs and sheep.
Excessive exposure could lead to losses. It is recommended to bring livestock in out of the cold during the early mornings and evenings.
