Junee police increased road presence on Wednesday as part of the state’s Operation Compliance 2.
Speeding, driver distraction devices, and vehicle standards became the focus for local police.
One driver was found to be holding a suspended license, and was fined on the spot.
Another was issued an infringement for operating a mobile phone while driving.
Three vehicle defect notices were handed out to drivers with cars that failed to meet roadworthy standards.
Junee’s Inspector Rob Vergano was pleased to see majority of Junee drivers observing safe road practices.
“We want to see the safest cars on safe roads, so it was good that most of the vehicles we saw were safe,” he said.
Across the state, 1,800 infringements were issued.
There were 195 infringements issued for not keeping left, 897 infringements for mobile phone use, and 705 infringements and notices for non-compliant vehicle standards.
