STORM: Storm lost to New Kids 49-35. Madi Harpley and Jacinta Cooper shot well against tight defence. Georgie Turner, Elise Drum, Jana Lawson, Ella Fitzgerald and Jess Barclay moved through the centre in hopes of improving Junee's passage to the goal circle. Leigh Fitzgerald, Sarah Stevens and Josie Drum were relentless in defence. Despite leading after one, Storm had their second loss for this season.
GIANTS: After a tough first quarter, the U10 Giants clawed back a 5-5 draw with the Reddies. Initially, passing and marking was patchy. The girls persevered against strong defense and moved more effectively. As they found space, their passing improved.
JEWELS: Junee Jewels defeated Marian Tigers 36-8. The match looked likely to be a tight one going into the second quarter. Jewels took complete control and were outstanding the rest of the match. The Jewels’ defensive pressure led to constant deflections, interceptions and held ball whistles. In attack, they took full advantage.
