Can Assist Junee celebrated its long term members last week, with an honourary ceremony.
The five awards recognised the community members who have devoted many years to servicing the local charity through fundraising and volunteering.
Many of whom have served the Junee charity branch since its inception in February 1992.
As the current president, Ms Phillips said it filled her with pride to be able to honour those who had served as the charity’s executive team during those early years.
“Fay Scott served as the first president of the Junee branch. Estella and Neville Hyde are founding members too,” she said.
“Neville was one of our first vice presidents. He has chaired our annual general meetings ever since we began.”
Lorraine Mack was honoured with an award that recognised the enormous contribution of her late husband Peter.
“Peter Mack did an incredible job serving on the executive committee for many years as vice president, and later president,” Ms Phillips said.
“Each of those nominated to receive a life membership award has provided outstanding service over many years,” she said.
Ms Phillips said the care and support provided by the members cannot be overstated.
“They’ve volunteered to raise money that supports our Junee locals who are suffering with cancer.
“Their huge contribution, the amount of time they’ve given over the years, it’s been invaluable.
“Together they’ve raised thousands of dollars, that has all been spent locally to help Junee residents,” Ms Phillips said.
