Despite miserable conditions, teams provided some exciting on-court action on the weekend to help brighten up the day.
GIANTS
The U10 Giants played a fantastic game against Mackillop Saints on a freezing cold, miserable day.
Fortunately, with their fabulous new stripy socks on, the girls were able to focus on playing excellent netball and won 24-1.
After taking a comfortable lead in the first quarter, they rotated heavily throughout the rest of the game.
Players challenged themselves by trying out some new positions and demonstrated wonderful teamwork and sportsmanship.
With no subs it was great to see how hard everyone worked, and that right to the end, they were able to put in 100 per cent in both offence and defence.
Their shooting has become more accurate and their marking has also improved.
Passes during the match were hard and accurate.
All of this reflected the consistent efforts of all team members at training and throughout the season.
JEWELS
Junee Jewels defeated New Kids Swans 21-15.
There were a lot of positives in the way the Jewels played for most of the match.
In recent matches, the Jewels have found it difficult to sustain their attack through all four quarters, but this weekend was a far more consistent performance.
The impressive 21 goals were more than all but one other team in our division managed to shoot on the day, clearly reflecting the continuing improvement in attack.
Defensively, the Swans had a tall and talented shooter, so keeping them to 15 goals was a tremendous effort.
The Jewels are currently coming second in their division and should be very proud of how their efforts are paying off.
They are showing continued improvement in all aspects of the game.
GEMS
Defeated by Shooting Stars Mango 30-21
Lastly, a huge thank you to all the parents and players who organised and carried out duty obligations despite the freezing and wet conditions.
