Joe Costello was introduced as the new group leader, leaving me to concentrate on the Cub Scout section. I wish Joe all the best as he takes on this new scouting challenge.
Cub scouts are averaging 20 on a weekly basis and enjoying varied activities and badge work.
Cubs are gearing up and getting ready for the Riverina Kub Kar rally where Junee High School will be flooded with 160 cubs from around the region. We are all looking forward to racing our cars that we will make and decorate over the next few weeks.
Our Scouts are also enjoying their weekly meetings and learning new skills. Last month the scouts attended a regional caving and abseiling camp at Wee Jasper and had a fantastic time.
Scouts attending the Jamboree in South Australia in January are preparing for the highlight of their scouting lives. They have just attended a pre-jamboree camp to meet scouts and leaders who will be in their contingent.
We have vacancies in scouts for youth members aged between 11 and 13. We could do with some extra leaders especially in scouts and would welcome anyone willing to be part off our group. A female leader would be fantastic; you just need to be over 18, love adventure and challenges and working with our amazing youth.
