John Ernest Spinks is charged with nine counts of indecently assaulting his former student between January 1, 1975, and December 24, 1976.
Spinks appeared before Wagga’s District Court on Friday morning via video link and entered pleas of not guilty to all nine charges.
The court heard that Spinks was employed as the head of English at Wagga High School at the time of the offences, and taught at the school for about six or seven years in total.
Three of the incidents for which Spinks was charged allegedly occurred in 1975, with the remaining six incidents allegedly taking place in 1976.
Spinks’ trial will begin in Wagga’s District Court on February 1, 2019.
