On Saturday May 5, Norma and Maureen from Central Coast and south Sydney stayed at the Monte Cristo Homestead, tagged as Australia’s ‘most haunted home’.
Lawrence Ryan, owner of the homestead, gave the two women a tour while telling them the tale of Mrs Crawley and how she died of an appendicitis attack.
Norma spoke of the scary coincidence she and Maureen experienced upon entering Mrs Crawley’s room.
“As we were about to go into her room, where Mrs Crawley died in agonising pain, Maureen told me she had a tummy ache,” Norma said.
Lawrence asked the women whether one of them had a stomach ache, which Maureen did.
Despite leaving the “light on all night” following their spooky experience, Norma said she had a “very memorable” time and her visit is still being talked about.
