On Saturday May 5 we held a very successful Women’s Clothes Swap followed by a scrumptious afternoon tea provided by our members.
It was lots of fun and everyone went home with new clothes to add to their wardrobes, so many thanks to all who attended.
Special thanks to Lola and Rachal for running the auction
Our monthly meeting was held on Wednesday May 16 with six members attending and a warm welcome extended to two potential new members.
President Hannah thanked everyone for their contribution to the Poppy Project which was displayed at the Anzac Day Dawn Service, the March in Junee and later at Junee Reefs.
This is a combined project between the Illabo/Junee Red Cross, CWA Junee Evening Branch and the good folk of Junee and surrounds.
Another display is being organised for Remembrance Day on November 11.
Gatherings are held every second Tuesday at the Junee Library from 10am to noon.
Patterns are available at the Library so please keep knitting and crocheting so we can have another awesome display.
Junee Shire Council is holding a Volunteer Summit Friday May 25, 9am to 2.30pm; our members will be attending and will have an information table.
Branch member Kathie attended the 96th Annual CWA State Conference in Armidale this month, and more than 800 members from all over NSW came for the AGM, workshops and networking with other members.
As always there was lots of healthy debate on topics important to our members and our country, and the CWA medical research project endometriosis was chosen.
Next year the conference will be held a little closer to home in Albury.
Calling anyone who loves to bake, a Land Cookery Day is scheduled for July 7.
Members and non-members are encouraged to submit entries that must follow the Land Cookery Schedule and each entry cost 80 cents.
After judging we will be enjoying the lovely baked treats as afternoon tea.
Our thoughts and prayers are with past President Susan.
